Workshop :My Body is an Immersive Space

The aim of this workshop is to explore movement and gesture research with a real-time body reactive software developed by the team that is used in the Swap performance.
The performers/participants will have the possibility to immerse themselves in the Swap System that uses a Computer Vision interface based on a Web Camera Software. This is a very expressive interface because it captures the body in real-time, analyses its movements, motion vectors and generates a virtual body in the digital space. The body interacts with thousands of small particles in different environment modules that compose the software. This experience is extreme plastic and expressive because it experiences the possibilities of revealing the energy fluxes that run around and inside our bodies.
We will develop an organic way of moving from the body and research new qualities of movement from the interaction with the system. We will address topics as: Radical Gesture Augmentation, Digital Body Morphing/Transfigurations, Body Reactive Feedback Choreographic Composition.
